Gululu

The food itself was tasty and well prepared, and the service was very good. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the “Flavours of Malta” tasting menu. At €35 per person, I don't think the portions or the overall experience justified the price. We paid €70 for the tasting menu for two, and personally I wouldn't recommend choosing it.
Nothing was wrong with the quality of the food — we actually enjoyed it — but considering the price, I expected considerably more from the tasting menu.
Overall, good food and very good service, but disappointing value for money

Gorgeous experience! We booked a table in advance and so glad we did because they were so busy. We had a table down by the waters edge which was beautiful. The service was very good with friendly staff who speak excellent English. We chose the share platter experience which was amazing...starters, mains and pudding with warm bread and the most delicious olive oil. Very reasonablely priced and the house cocktails.are divine!!! Highly recommended

Visited Gululu recently. It is nicely situated by the harbour, which is a big plus if you can get a seat outside.

The food was okay, but nothing special. We had the rabbit spaghetti and the pork pasta, both of which were fine but not particularly memorable. We also ordered a bowl of dip which was pretty much flavourless.

Staff were just average as well, not very attentive or friendly, more like they were just doing their job rather than being welcoming.

The restaurant also felt quite expensive for the food and overall experience you get. We couldn’t get a seat outside as those were for bookings only, which was a bit disappointing. We also entered through the rear of the restaurant and were told to go find someone downstairs instead of being directed, which didn’t feel very helpful.

Overall, a nice location by the harbour, but the food and service didn’t quite match the setting or price.

The food was delicious. We went for a tasting menu and that was a great choice.

The interior has its own style which isn't exactly my thing but I would say it isn't nice - depends on persona preferences.

I was quite disappointed with the service. The waitress wasn't able to say exactly what is being served to us. We've asked about one addon to fish (which btwvwas fantastic) and weren't able to get the answer. Also she was confused when we ordered rum with coca-cola and then she forgot to bring it.

We tried the Fenkata (rabbit) tasting menu for €36 per pax, min 2 pax. This was recommended by my Maltese tour guide. I would also highly recommend - the rabbit belly was tender and juicy and velvety and served with fresh peas.
The rabbit pasta was one of the best I’ve had - al dente pasta with a well balanced tomato based sauce. A good portion traditional rabbit which pan fried and came in a red wine based sauce and fresh peas and carrots. The roasted potatoes were cooked with fennel seeds and this gave them an interesting depth and flavour. Maltese dessert of crispy date fritters and honey came piping hot from the pan.

The meal was very filling - it’s definitely value for money. We were so stuffed after the meal. come hungry !
