Reasonably priced restaurant for seemingly traditional Maltese food. With the rustic atmosphere, pre set list of courses, and presentation style, it reminded us of eating at someones house -- where the cook is very good. Most dishes were tasty, with special mention to the rabbit pate, which was unexpectedly wonderful.
absolutely amazing! the best restaurant we went during our week in Malta. the food reminds home made food, the tasting is well served and very well seasoned, service was great and the wine pairing very generous. we loved it and definitely recommend!
The best thing about this place is the price. The food is very very good but nothing amazing, but for €37 at lunch, you get to try lots of taster size Maltese dishes. You also get a huge basket of bread which helps ! Without this, we would’ve been hungry.
We also did the wine pairing which has all Maltese wines comparable to a Michelin restaurant we went to on another day.

Traditional Maltese tasting menu. In a traditional style Valetta restaurant. My only negative here was one of the courses was Vegetable soup, that's not a proper course in my opinion. I want fish soup as a minimum to qualify as a course. Also they should have horse meat somewhere on the menu. Aside from that I would highly recommend this place, and for what you got I thought it was very good value.
So this concept only really works if you have excellent service. Thankfully this place did have excellent service, and I must give a very special mention to the Maltese waiter, and Nepalese waitress.
Unfortunately Legligin did not live up the reviews that we read here. It was so disappointing, the food and the service. The flavors of the food was mediocre with the exemption of the pork dish which was very good. The white and red wine by the glass was good. The dessert of ricotta and strawberry pie/tart was awful.
We just finished a meal, spending 120 euros and we are next door at 5 Beans getting espresso and a real dessert.
We made reservations here based on reviews and it was a waste of time and money.
